He loved oysters, and he loved people, so he brought them together. The Oysterman is where Oystertainment® began.
Back in 2000, our founder Matijn Wijn had a revolutionary idea: instead of serving oysters from a traditional raw bar, bring the oyster experience directly to the guests. He designed special equipment so a professional Oysterman could move through a party and open oysters as he goes.
Armed with an oyster knife, a bucket of fresh oysters, and an infectious enthusiasm, the Oysterman became one of the first professional oystermen to shuck oysters on the spot at parties and events, and a new kind of entertainment was born.
Today, our Oystermen, and Oyster Girls , Oystertain at weddings, corporate events, art fairs, and private celebrations across Europe and the United States. Each one is passionate about oysters, and within an instant your guests will be too.
The original concept
